Trying Something New
I've been driving by this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant for some time now. It always catches my attention because of the decor. Large Wooden Spoons along the walls and on the tabletops. I felt a strong attraction to this place as I passed by, but it wasn’t convenient. Most of the time, I took the easy way out, the safe road and went to the restaurant downstairs. I knew the menu and that it wouldn’t take long. I am a very busy lady, after all. That was my excuse for not exploring restaurants that were not that far away, but not as convenient.
Then, last week, I read a book that was recommended to me many years ago by a friend in college. “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway”. It wasn’t just about fear. It also addressed following your instincts, your gut feeling…taking action on what you are attracted to and your hunches even when you don’t know why. There must be a reason my Inner Goddess takes notice of this place and I’m pulled to it. And today I have a craving for a burger, so I decided to give the restaurant a try. I parked the car and took a walk to the restaurant.
I was pleasantly surprised to find it was not your typical burger joint. I loved the atmosphere, the Southern rock-style music and awesome decor. The place made me feel right at home. The menu was amazing. Their specialty was comfort food. Just what I needed today. They even have DIY menus, which I promptly took advantage of ordering my burger in a lettuce wrap. They have Mac-n-cheese, burgers & brussel spouts…my favs. Lunch hour in paradise. Mmmmmmm I’ll be back here soon. And often, I’m sure.
Now, It’s time for you to step out and try something new too. Something that has been on your mind for a while… You may be pleasantly surprised as well.
