Its amazing how much spanking is in the culture and the more you look for it, the more it happens to show up. I came out of the subway and got on the crosstown bus and realized I was going the wrong direction. I got out and caught the next bus going the right direction. At the very next stop, an elderly man got on the bus and sat down next to a mother and a little girl that looked about seven or eight years old. The grey haired man leaned down to speak to the little girl and said "When I was your age I was beaten with a belt every day." I guess he wanted her to know that kids today have it a lot easier than he did. What an introduction! The next sentence was "What's your favorite food? I like eggs. Do you like eggs?"  Funny what one can overhear on a bus.
